Introduction
Our district hopes to use SharePoint as an online communication and collaboration tool. With no web design experience needed, SharePoint offers an easy and quick way to get information online from any computer connected to the Internet. It will also allow our district to give targeted permission to a wide variety of web authors, creating more relevant and current information available to our staff and community.
What can you do with sharepoint?
- Announcements give students and parents advance notice of upcoming tests, projects, field trips, etc.
- Calendars are also a way to keep parents and students informed of important events and to have parents be aware of pacing of courses.
- Documents containing lists of daily assignments and homework help parents to monitor student efforts, provide an opportunity for students to prepare for planned absences, and provide assignments to students who have been absent.
- For science classes, videos of lab activities can be posted to a SharePoint site for later student review and for viewing by students who were absent.
- Work done in class on the ACTIVboard may be saved to the SharePoint site for student review and for students who were absent.
- Similarly, PowerPoint presentations used in instruction may be posted on the site for those needing further review.
- Links to other resources are an important use of the SharePoint site. In the mathematics classes, for instance, a link may be provided to the online textbook and resources sponsored by the textbook publisher. Teachers may also want to link to other sites for content and to guide student research.

How to Logon from Home
One of the best parts of SharePoint is the ability to make changes instantly from any computer connected to the Internet. When you are logged onto your computer at school, all you have to do is navigate to your SharePoint and begin editing.
When you are not logged onto our network and want to change your SharePoint site, it will ask you to logon. Make sure to type in snoqualmie\ before your username. Please note the direction of the slash. This is a common mistake.
Example
Username: snoqualmie\username
Password: ********
