Women in Film: The Nell Shipman Student Scholarship 2006
The Nell Shipman Student Scholarship 2006 - $1,500 College/University Student Tuition
Women in Film/Seattle awards one tuition scholarship per calendar year for a college/university student or matriculating freshman majoring or concentrating her studies in film, video, or cinema, and who demonstrates the potential to make a positive impact on the film/video industry.

Two $1500 scholarships are available this year !

Qualifications:
 The applicant must be female.
 The applicant must be a student at an accredited college or university concentrating her studies in film, video, or cinema studies, OR be a graduating high school student entering an accredited college or university concentrating her studies in film, video, or cinema studies. 
 The applicant must have consistently maintained a 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale for two years or have favorable teacher evaluations consistently for two years.
 The applicant must have maintained a permanent residence in Washington State for two years. 

Extended Deadline for application was August 2, 2006.
 
Robert McMillen Foundation Art Scholarship
It is with great excitement that we announce the first year of the McMillen Foundation (of Issaquah) Art Scholarships.  Beginning immediately, they will be accepting applications for full tuition and required supplies renewable scholarships.  These scholarships are open to any student who wishes to further their education at the university/college level, in Washington or Alaska, majoring in the area of Visual Arts.  Although need and merit will be considered, 70% of their selection criteria is based on talent and potential in the art area.  Applications can be downloaded from their website or copies are available in the Counseling Center.

The Purpose of the Washington State Scholarship Foundation
To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children, youth and students enrolled in public schools the highest advantages in education;

To establish and maintain a program to enhance and further the education of children, youth and students by awarding scholarships and financial grants;

To establish and maintain such other scholarship or grant programs as it deems appropriate to promote the health, welfare, safety and education of children, youth and students.
